The fashion show hosted by Ballyseedy Home & Garden, Fota Retail Park on Friday, 30th September 2016 was simply spectacular. Everything from start to finish was amazing, the atmosphere electric, the fashion fantastic, the models, brilliant and the members of DSCork who modelled, were the stars of the show. From the youngest to the oldest, each person shone in their confidence and brought their personality to the fore as the walked the walk.
There was a fantastic reception from the audience, the oohs, the aahs; the standing ovation for silver olympic medal winner, Sean Coleman; the impressively cool roll from Robbie Howard; the ‘spading’ from Cian Fleming just to mention a few – all were brilliant and the reception was amazing. Families were bursting with pride and there were more than a few tears shed.
All of this was made possible primarily by parents Sinead Halpin, Bluefig Boutique, Ballincollig and Marion McCarthy, Style2U https://www.facebook.com/style2u.ct. Both Sinead and Marion did exemplary work and their expertise in the fashion industry made the night such a success. Sinead, arranged fantastic goodie bags with help from Nicola Murphy of L’Oreal/Rimnel which also contained delicious Green & Black chocolate, suppled by Marie Burke of Mondelez.
Emer O’Mahoney and Vivienne Kelly from Lockdown Model Agency were supported by the stunning models that gave their time voluntarily, including the lovely Pat Walker and Liz Desmond.
We were lucky to have fashion on show from:
Hydes Children’s Fashion
Kahlo & Apfel
Meadows & Byrne
Miss Daisy Blue
We are very grateful to all of the above establishments for their support and cooperation.
Thanks to Rory of Red Penguin who turned the beautiful location of Ballyseedy Home & Garden into an impressive fashion show venue; James O’Driscoll, photography and George Harrington, DJ.There were an impressive list of supporters, both shops and spot prizes, all of whom made the night an overwhelming success and I would ask that you look at the detailed list.
Again, our thanks to Ann O’Driscoll and Nathan McDonald of Ballyseedy Home & Garden who hosted the event, sold tickets, donated a substantial spot prize, arranged other donations including the nibbles from Bakestone, the in house restaurant and Ballyseedy Home & Garden also generously paid for the welcome music by the Ray Barron Band.
Great credit is due to the parents who kept order behind the scenes. I was in a very privileged location and I was incredibly proud of everyone as they waited patiently for their turn. Their faces were full of excitement and at the same time, calm. Everything was being noted in preparation for their turn on the catwalk. Excellent waiting skills!
Thank you also to Siobhan Gallagher who did an amount of driving!
