Adult Employment at the FOD

One of the ultimate goals of our adult members is to find part-time paid employment. At the  Field of Dreams, we have an Employment Support Specialist who works with members who wish to transition to employment. 


The Employment Support Specialist provides tailored support, advice, mentoring and training to members who would like to work and to local employers who would wish to get involved in our employment programme.

Members Support

  • Vocational profiling of members to ascertain skill set, strengths, and preferences.
  • CV preparation and interview skills
  • Identifying suitable roles and sourcing suitable local employers
  • Ongoing support and training in the workplace 

Employer Support

  • Engaging with local employers and providing practical advice and guidance in relation to employing adults with Down Syndrome
  • Working with employers to carve out suitable roles.
  • On site presence on a phased reducing basis
  • Dedicated point of contact for employers
