At DS Cork, we offer a program called ParentLink, which is a peer support program designed to connect new and expectant parents of children with Down syndrome with experienced parent volunteers. A new baby brings joy but we understand that a diagnosis of Down Syndrome brings a range of other more difficult emotions too. ParentLink aims to provide emotional support, guidance, and practical advice to parents who may be feeling overwhelmed or unsure about how to navigate the challenges of raising a child with Down syndrome.
Our ParentLink volunteers are experienced parents. They provide a listening ear, a friendly voice, and a source of encouragement and support to new parents who may be feeling isolated or anxious.
